Exclamation I'm not sure I'm using this build right

Well lately i've been getting bored of my necro because there aren't any new builds I can run that I don't already run and I decided to run the Aotl Dark Aura build but i'm constantly dieing and I'm never alive long enough to kill anyone. Here's the build that i have been using. Advice and help would be much appreciated.


Max Blood Magic (16) (12)+3+1 (Sup Blood Rune and Blood Face scar)
Max Death Magic (13) (12)+1 (Minor Death Rune)
Soul Reaping (4) (3)+1 (Minor Soul Reaping Rune)



Template:
Aura of the Lich
For 15...39...47 seconds, your maximum Health is halved, but you take half damage from all sources. When Aura of the Lich ends you're healed for 50...202...253 Health.

Blood Renewal
Sacrifice 25% max Health. For 10 seconds, you gain +3...5...6 Health regeneration. When Blood Renewal ends, you gain 40...160...200 Health.

Dark Aura
For 30 seconds, whenever target ally sacrifices Health, Dark Aura deals 5...41...53 shadow damage to adjacent foes, and you lose 5...17...21 Health.

Dark Pact
Sacrifice up to 10% Health and deal 10...40...51 shadow damage to target foe.

Demonic Flesh
Sacrifice 20% max Health. For 30...54...62 seconds, your maximum Health is increased by 80...176...208.

Strip Enchantment
Remove one Enchantment from target foe. If an Enchantment is removed, you gain 30...102...126 Health.

Touch of Agony
Sacrifice 10% max health. Target touched foe takes 20...50...61 shadow damage.

Vampiric Gaze
Steal 18...52...63 Health from target foe.

No Demonic Flesh.
Needs a barbed signet.
I would personally drop Strip Enchant for Wallow's bite.

I'd drop Blood Renewal and bring Mystic Regeneration and Conviction if you have Nightfall

I agree w/ Wallow's Bite. It's just a mirror of Touch of Agony... so it's like having two ToA's in your skill bar. Much better for Dark Aura trigger than Dark Pact. Before I got Factions, I played with a similar build (DA, DP, ToA)... but if you've got the right campaigns, it's worth it to swap the distance-castable sac/dmg for the touch sac/dmg.

If you decide to keep Blood Renewal, here's a trick I used to use: There's a Monk skill called Contemplation of Purity that will serve to end your BR/AotL enchantments when you choose, rather than letting them burn out on their own. Basically what this does is allows you to give yourself a fantastic spike heal if you're in dire need. Maybe it will help you, maybe it won't. If you keep Vamp Gaze, perhaps you won't need it.

Thx for the help i have factons but i dont have nightfall so i think ill go get wallows bite then if i have it and i think i might have contemplation of purity im not sure. but what sould replace vampiric gaze with just wondering?

I think CoP is Core. I'm not 100% certain, but fairly sure.

I'm not saying don't bring Vamp Gaze... personally, I didn't use it. That left room on my bar for CoP. I think my setup was something like this:

1. Touch of Agony
2. Wallow's Bite
3. Varied (Barbed Signet, Demonic Flesh, Consume Corpse, Necrotic Traversal)
4. Blood Renewal
5. Contemplation of Purity
6. Dark Aura
7. Aura of the Lich
8. Resurrection Signet

I would like to say that you could ditch the 3rd sac/dmg (Barbed Signet), but it takes a bit of tricky Blood Renewal usage to pull off. If you choose to, though, I would recommend Consume Corpse. It often kept me in the green well enough that I would ditch CoP instead of the Signet... but having that self-heal is still nice.

It's a matter of preference, really.

Drop Demonic Flesh for Barbed Signet
Drop Strip Enchantment for Unholy Feast


CoP I believe is Prophecies only, not that it matters because AotL is also Prophecies only.

I checked, and you are right. CoP is Prophecies. My bad.

As for Unholy Feast... I hadn't even thought about that one. With a casting cost of 15, it wouldn't exactly be "spammable," but that would be a decent self-heal or AoE/spike to use occasionally.

running a funny build for pvp now for the necro, drops guys fast and is hexes, all curses. 16 in curses and 12 or so in soulreap, and rest in blood, like 4 or 5.

elite is a nightfall though, puts neg 4 degen, and think get energy back if he dies in a certian amount of time, then cover with 3 other hexes, making it very very hard for a monk to remove the core ones. second hex is insidious parasite i think one when they attack ANYONE your healed, I echo this one before doing anything, then hit elite and that, then next guy gets IP first then the elite is charges again. I cover both guys with 3 - 4 hexes, and I run off, unless I get in a corner, I am heald till they die hehe, and I aint fighting.

look me up on line and Ill give you the build Razor of Death is my necros name, yeah he was made to be a MM.

Arcane echoing IP= 45 energy. Nono. Also its not good on anyone smart.

Hi, i am using a build from wiki with few modifications:

Attributes:

Death Magic 10 + 1 + 2
Blood Magic 11 + 2
Soul Reaping 5 + 1
Earth Prayers 8
Wind Prayers 4

Skills:

1.- Aura of the Lich
2.- Dark Aura
3.- Mystic Regeneration
4.- Lyssa's Haste
5.- Touch of Agony
6.- Wallow's Bite
7.- Blood of the Agressor
8.- Plague Touch

In my own experience the problem with Dark Aura builds is that you need to get in quick and start the damage and quick out.
With mysctic regeneration you will have +9 Health regeneration, enough to negate the health lost of your skills and Lyssa's Haste (it's a must for speed and energy gain).

Before approach cast 1,2,3, then 4 for speed and energy, and spam 5,6,7. Blood of the aggresor helps too with your health. Plague touch to transfer conditions that kill you (specially disease and burning)

Just make sure to have a +20% enchant. Totem Axe or Rajazan Fervor plus +27 -1 blood icon and that's all.

all I ment was those 2 skills put a neg 11 degen by the time the second burrning arrow comes around most are dead. been playing in in PvP at fort ( crud, factions name ) and been wiping them out, pick 2 casters and they are done for, then run off if need to. I have more problems with the NPC fighters than the people lately, they see the damage and all come and get me, but before they do I have posioned what 4 or 5 players and burned 2 or 3. monk cant remove the conditions fast enough, and if they not runing heals for themself they just die, not good to go in a fight with no heals.

Is this for PvE or PvP? Either way I find the N/D dark aura bomber a vast improvement over previous versions of this.

Contagion - Mystic Regen - Wearying Strike - Signet of Agony - Plague Touch - Dark Aura - [Rest open to personal preference]

I can even tank in RoF island with that.
